About this design
A proud chief in a full feather headdress looks off into the distance, framed by the perforated edge of an old United States postage stamp. There is something quietly powerful about this one. The portrait pulls you in, the lettering wraps it in history, and the finished carve looks like a giant collector's stamp pressed into solid wood.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL based on the 1923 American Indian 14-cent stamp. The depth work is where it shines: layered feathers, a sculpted face with real shadow, fine scroll work in the corners, and crisp engraved text reading United States Postage with the bold 14 Cents denomination below. Toolpaths come off clean, so the perforated stamp border and the lettering stay sharp instead of muddy. It is tested and ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router or a 3D printer. For the cleanest result, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then switch to a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover for the finishing pass. Hardwoods like walnut, cherry, or maple bring out the engraved stamp feel beautifully. Use it for wall plaques, history and heritage decor, study or office art, man cave pieces, and one of a kind gifts for stamp collectors.
