Wildlife is the category people carve most, and for a simple reason: a stag stepping out of the trees or a bear with her cubs reads from across a room in a way few subjects do. These are full scenes rather than cut-out animals. The deer stands in front of pines, the wolf howls under a moon, the elk has a mountain behind him, so the finished panel looks composed, not pasted on.
Every file is sculpted at full depth with fur, antlers and foliage that survive a 1/32 inch finishing pass. Carve them at 300 to 600 mm wide in cherry, walnut or oak, or scale them down for a tray insert. Mid-scene depth means they also print well on a resin or FDM printer. If a carving comes out looking flatter than the render, this guide explains the seven causes, and the finishing guide shows the glaze step that makes fur read as fur.
