Is your relief STL thicker than your board? Drop it in. The relief is levelled first, so the rim sits even all the way round, then a flat cut slides up from the back and takes away only the spare material under the carving. The carving keeps its exact depth, and you get back a watertight STL.

No. Everything runs inside this page, in your browser. There is no server to send it to.
Many relief STLs lean a little: the rim is higher on one side than the other, or rises and falls along the edge. A flat cut under a leaning relief takes more from one side, and the shallow side can run out of wood. Levelling first makes the rim even all the way round, so the cut takes the same from everywhere and the carving keeps its full depth.
No. The carved surface keeps its exact shape and depth. Only the spare material under the deepest part of the carving is removed. If you ask for a board thinner than the carving itself, the tool stops at the floor you set, unless you tick "squeeze the carving", which makes the whole carving shallower in proportion.
Yes. Only the points of the carved top move, straight down, and the back stays one flat face, so every triangle keeps its neighbours. The result is then checked again for holes, open edges and bad edges, and the numbers are shown next to the download.
The wood left between the bottom of the deepest cut and the back of the board. The default is 1 mm (0.04 in), or less if your file already had less. Raise it if the relief will hang on a wall and needs a stronger back.
STL files do not record units. The tool guesses from the size and shows the numbers in millimetres or inches; switch the units at any time. The file is saved in the same units it came in.
Reliefs of about two million triangles work on an ordinary computer. Moving the thickness slider takes a few seconds on a file that size, because the result is checked again every time.
Every design here is checked watertight with a flat back before it is released. Drop any of them in above to make it fit your board.
