About this design
A slow river bends through a deep canyon, towering mesas catching the light on one side while shadow pools in the cliffs below. Wild brush clings to the banks. Carve this one and you can almost feel the dry Southwest heat coming off the wood. It is the kind of panel people stop and stare at, tracing the rock layers with their eyes.

For the cleanest result on a CNC router, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine rock texture and the brush. Walnut, maple, or cherry all look right here, and it works in MDF for painted pieces too.
