About this design
There is a quiet weight in this face. Eyes that seem to look right through you, hair falling in long waves, a beard worked strand by strand. Carve it in walnut and you get a portrait of Christ that holds a room still, the kind of piece people stop and stare at before they say a word.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean carving from front to back. The depth runs deep through the flowing hair and the folds of the robe, while the soft modeling across the brow, cheeks, and eyes reads beautifully once a finish catches the grain. It opens and runs in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, ArtCAM, and Fusion 360, and it cuts well on a CNC router or prints clean on a 3D printer for smaller pieces. For best results, rough the shape with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at a 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine work in the beard and the gaze. Run it on oak, walnut, or maple and you have wall art, a church panel, a home altar centerpiece, or a heartfelt gift.
