About this design
A pair of weathered hands working a fly rod, fingers easing the line onto the reel, the whole quiet moment caught mid-cast. Anyone who has stood thigh deep in a cold river knows this feeling. Carved into walnut or cherry, it turns into the kind of panel a fisherman stops and studies, every knuckle and rod wrap reading like the real thing.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean carving. The sculpt holds tight definition in the fingers, the reel spool, and the grain of the rod, so your toolpaths come off the machine sharp with very little sanding. It is tested and ready in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and the file scales to whatever board you have on the bench. Run it on a CNC router for relief plaques and lodge signs, print it on a 3D printer for a display piece, or pull a heightmap for laser work. For the best surface, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to bring up the fine texture in the hands and line. It carves beautifully as wall art, a man-cave sign, or a personal gift for the angler who has everything.
This is an instant digital download, so you can have it on the machine today. Commercial use is included, which means you are free to carve these, sell them at shows, or build a whole fishing themed line around them. Add it to your cart, fire up the router, and make something a fly fisher will hang for years.
