About this design
A German Shepherd looks right at you, ears up, mouth open in that happy panting grin, and two big paws come together below to form a heart. It is the kind of carve that stops dog people in their tracks. Anyone who has loved a shepherd knows that face, and seeing it cut into walnut or oak hits a soft spot every time.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean machining. The fur flows in real directions, the eyes carry depth, and the heart-shaped paws give the piece a clear focal point that reads well from across a room. It is tested and ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router or a 3D printer. For best results, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at a 10 percent stepover to pull out the fur detail and the soft pads on the paws. Hardwoods like walnut, maple, and cherry show off the shadows beautifully, but it carves clean in pine too. Think wall plaques, memorial pieces, dog lover signs, family room decor, and gifts that mean something.
