About this design
A griffin rears up with wings flung wide, beak sharp, talons reaching. This is the old guardian of myth, half eagle and half lion, and carved into walnut it looks ready to step right off the panel. The light catches every layered feather and turns the recessed background into deep shadow. It feels like something that belongs over a fireplace or guarding a study door.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL with real sculptural depth. The wings carry hundreds of overlapping feathers, the lion body has muscle and motion, and the whole figure sits inside a woven Celtic knot medallion with a beaded outer frame. It is tested and ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, so you can drop it into your usual workflow and cut. Run it on a CNC router for the cleanest result. For machining, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at a 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine feather and knotwork detail. Walnut, oak, cherry, or maple all show it beautifully, and it scales well for big wall pieces or smaller plaques. Use it for statement wall art, fantasy and mythology decor, lodge and cabin interiors, custom signs, or carved gifts.
