About this design
A single honey bee, viewed head-on with her wings spread wide, frozen mid-landing in carved relief. The fuzzy thorax, the glossy compound eyes, the bold dark stripes running down the abdomen, all of it reads at a glance and pulls you in close to study the fine work. Finished in walnut, this one looks like it took a master carver a month by hand.
What you get is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean cutting. The lace pattern in the wings, the layered hair texture across the body, and the deep shadow channels between the wing veins all hold up beautifully when you run a proper finishing pass. It is tested and ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it carves well on a CNC router or prints sharp on a 3D printer. For best results, rough it out using a 6mm end mill at a 40 percent stepover, then switch to a 3mm ball nose and finish at roughly 10 percent stepover to pull every hair and vein crisp. Use it for wall art, pollinator signs, garden plaques, jewelry box lids, or a standout gift for the beekeeper in your life.
