About this design
A windblown horse looks out over a quiet camp at dusk, its mane streaming back like smoke off a fire. Below the muzzle sit three painted teepees, a small blaze flickering between them, and a wall of pines climbing into the background. A single feather and a dreamcatcher tie the whole story together. Carved in wood, this one stops people mid-step and gets them leaning in close.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean cutting. The depth is layered well, so the horse head reads bold and forward while the forest and tents fall back into soft shadow, which keeps the toolpaths from fighting each other. It is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router or a 3D printer. For the best result, hog out the waste first with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then bring up the fine work (the feather barbs, the flowing mane, the pine needles) with a 3mm ball nose at a tight 10 percent stepover. Cut it in walnut, oak, maple, or basswood for wall art, a cabin sign, a mantel piece, or a gift for the horse lover in your life.
