About this design
Picture the moment captured in wood. Jesus stands waist deep in the Jordan, hands crossed over his heart, eyes closed in quiet surrender. John reaches in with a shell to pour the water, and above them the dove descends with wings spread wide. Ripples fan out across the surface, two small fish swim near the edges, and a leafy tree anchors the far bank. Carved into walnut or cherry, this scene carries a stillness that draws people in close.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean, predictable cutting. The depth is layered well, so faces, folds of fabric, and the textured water all hold their shadows once the dust is blown off. The file is tested and ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router. For the cut, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at a 40 percent stepover to clear the bulk fast, then bring out the fine work with a 3mm ball nose finishing at a 10 percent stepover. It carves beautifully in basswood, oak, sapele, or mahogany, and scales from a small mantel piece up to a full church wall panel. Think baptism gifts, sanctuary decor, framed wall art, and custom commissions for families.
