About this design
The face of Christ tilts skyward beneath a tangled crown of thorns, mouth parted in quiet anguish. Below it sits the crucifix itself, framed by carved leaves and rough rock. Pull this off in walnut or cherry and you get a piece people stop and stare at, the kind of relief that holds light and shadow like it was cut by hand a hundred years ago.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for serious depth. The layered composition (the portrait above, the full crucifixion scene below) gives you dramatic shadow play once the finishing pass cleans up the hair, the beard, and the folds of the loincloth. Toolpaths run smooth with no nasty undercuts. It opens and machines cleanly in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, ArtCAM, and Fusion 360, and it carries straight over to a 3D printer or a laser engraver for deep raster work. For routing, hog out the bulk with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then drop in a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to bring up the fine facial detail and the thorns. Cut it in hardwood, MDF, or resin and finish however you like. It works as a wall panel, a church or altar piece, a prayer room focal point, or a memorial plaque.
