About this design
Rain spills from a low, heavy cloud and falls in fat carved droplets onto a little log cabin tucked among birch trees. There is something calming about the whole scene, the kind of quiet you feel when you watch a storm roll through from a dry porch. Finished in walnut or cherry, this one pulls light into every droplet and shadow, and people will lean in close to see how the rain was cut.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL, built to read clearly once the chips clear. The cloud has rounded, billowing form, the rain drops stretch down the middle of the panel, and the cabin shows real architecture, stacked logs, a shingled roof, a stone chimney, framed windows. The trees on either side carry layered, textured foliage that catches a finishing pass nicely. The file is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs well on a CNC router. For a clean result, hog out the bulk with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back and finish with a 3mm ball nose at ten percent stepover to bring up the droplet edges and the cabin lines. Take it slow on the finishing pass and the depth transitions will hold their detail.
