About this design
A horned owl sits dead center, eyes locked on you, framed by an ancient oak whose branches arc overhead and whose roots pour down across the lower half of the panel. There is something old and watchful in this piece. Once it comes off the machine and catches a little side light, the feather detail and the twisting bark read like something that took a master carver a month by hand.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean, deep cuts. The layered oak leaves at the top, the woven trunk and the spreading root system at the base all carry real depth, so your shadows fall where they should and the owl reads sharp against the recessed background. The file opens and runs in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, ArtCAM, or Fusion 360, and it is ready for a CNC router. For a clean result, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at a 40 percent stepover, then come back and finish with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover. Take your depth of cut in steps that suit your machine and your stock. It carves beautifully in oak, walnut, maple, or basswood and makes a strong round wall piece, a cabin or lodge sign, a wildlife plaque, or a standout gift for anyone who loves owls and old trees.
You get an instant digital download with commercial use included, so the moment you check out you can drop it on the machine. Carve it for your own wall, run a batch for a craft show, or sculpt a one-off gift that nobody else will have. Add it to your library and let the owl earn its keep.
