About this design
An elder chief looks out from the wood, his face lined with years and quiet strength, a tall feather headdress rising behind him and a wolf resting at his shoulder. There is real weight to this one. When the light rakes across a finished carve, the feathers catch the shadows, the turquoise bead sits proud on the necklace, and the wolf's fur reads soft against the chief's weathered features. It feels like a piece that has a story to tell.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean cutting. The depth is sculpted to layer well, so the headdress, the portrait, and the wolf each hold their own plane without muddying together. It is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router or a 3D printer. For a crisp result, rough the shape with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back and finish with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine feather lines and facial detail. Run it in walnut, maple, or oak and you have wall art, a cabin or lodge plaque, a western sign, or a standout gift for anyone drawn to Native heritage and wolves.
