About this design
That eye stops you cold. This hen looks up with its comb flared and every feather standing proud, the kind of face that belongs on a barn wall or hanging in a country kitchen. Carve it once and you have a piece that draws people in, the layered plumage catching light and shadow the way only deep relief can.
Underneath the drama is a clean, high-detail bas-relief STL built to machine without fuss. The feather work flows in clear contours, the beak and brow read sharp, and the depth gives you something with real presence rather than a flat stamp. It opens and runs in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and the file plays nicely with a CNC router, a laser engraver, or a 3D printer. For wood, I rough it with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover to clear the bulk fast, then switch to a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover for the fine feather detail and that crisp eye. Run it on hardwood for furniture-grade plaques or softer stock for quick signs. Good for wall art, kitchen panels, farmhouse signs, rooster and chicken lover gifts, and rustic country decor.
