About this design
Two feet pressed together, crossed and held by a single nail. It is one of the most quiet, weighty images in the whole Passion story, and carved in wood it stops people in their tracks. The tendons, the strain in the toes, the deep recess of the panel around them: this is a piece that preaches without a word.
What you get is a high-detail bas-relief STL of the crucifixion feet, sculpted with the muscle and grain you can see in the photo. The model is built for clean toolpaths and real depth, so the shadows fall where they should and the nail head reads sharp against the skin. It is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs just as well on a 3D printer as it does on a CNC router. For a crisp carve, rough the panel with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back and finish with a 3mm ball nose at a tight 10 percent stepover. Cut it in walnut, oak, or MDF, scale it up for an altar plaque or keep it small for a devotional shelf piece. A light stain wash will pull the carved detail forward beautifully.
