About this design
A heavy-antlered bull elk drops his head to feed at the edge of a dark pine wood, and back among the trunks a hunter shoulders his rifle and waits. That single held breath before everything changes is the whole story, and it carves into wood with the kind of depth that makes people stop and lean in close.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for serious carving. The composition stacks real depth into the panel, from the recessed forest background and tall trunks up to the proud rack of antlers and the textured ferns along the ground. Toolpaths come out clean thanks to the sculpted separation between the elk, the hunter, and the woodland behind them. The file is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs well on a CNC router or a 3D printer. For a crisp result, rough the shape with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then switch to a 3mm ball nose at a 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine fur, bark, and antler detail. Walnut, oak, or maple all show this design off, and it works just as well as a printed plaque.
