About this design
Two ducks lift off together, wings stretched wide, that split second when they break from the water and climb. You can almost hear the rush of feathers. Carved into wood and finished with a little shadow in the grooves, this piece holds the kind of wild motion that stops people in a hallway and pulls them closer.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL with real sculpted depth, from the layered flight feathers down to the soft curve of each breast. The model carries clean toolpaths that read beautifully in walnut, maple, or oak, and the raised wings against the recessed background give you genuine light and shadow once it comes off the machine. It is built and tested for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs on a CNC router, a 3D printer, or a laser engraver. For the cleanest result, rough the shape with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then finish with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine feather work. Turn it into cabin wall art, a lake house sign, a hunting lodge plaque, or a framed gift for the duck hunter in your life.
