About this design
A bird dog locks eyes on the scene while two woodcocks share the frame, one bursting up on open wings, the other tucked low in the grass and fallen oak leaves. This is the kind of carve that stops a hunter in their tracks. The setter's soft, freckled coat against the barred feathers of the birds gives you that real upland morning feeling, the moment right before the flush.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean, faithful machining. The depth runs from the dappled fur and dark, wet eyes of the dog to the layered primary feathers and the long woodcock bills, with grass and leaf litter grounding the bottom edge. It is tested and ready in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, ArtCAM, and Fusion 360, and it runs well on a CNC router, a 3D printer, or a laser engraver using a heightmap workflow. For a crisp result, hog out the waste with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then drop to a 3mm ball nose and finish at 10 percent stepover to pull every feather barb and whisker. Scale it to whatever your stock allows, from a small plaque to a full cabin panel.
Use it for lodge wall art, gun-room signs, sportsman gifts, or a centerpiece panel for a den. The file downloads instantly after checkout, and commercial use is included, so you are free to carve it, sell the finished pieces, or hand one to the hunter in your life. Add it to your cart and put a chisel to it.
