About this design
Two woodcocks share this panel, one breaking upward with wings spread wide and one settled low among fallen leaves, watchful and still. Anyone who has walked an October treeline knows that flush of wings. This carve holds that quiet woodland moment in wood you can hang on a wall and run your fingers across.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean, believable feather work. You get layered wing barbs, soft breast plumage, the long probing bill, and a textured background that reads like weathered timber. The depth is staged so your toolpaths stay crisp without chatter, and it carves the same whether you favor walnut, maple, or a sheet of MDF. The file is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs on a CNC router, a resin or FDM 3D printer, and deeper laser setups depending on your machine. For the cleanest result, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine feather detail. Think rustic plaques, cabin and lodge decor, hunting camp signs, and one-of-a-kind gifts for the bird lover in your life.
