About this design
A big trout breaks the surface, body twisted mid-jump, water peeling off its tail in ribbons. Behind it sit jagged peaks, a still lake, and a treeline of pines. This is the kind of scene every angler keeps in the back of their mind, and carved in wood it earns a permanent spot above the workbench or the fireplace.

The spotted scales, the splash, and the layered background all hold their depth, so you get honest shadows and crisp edges instead of mush. For the smoothest result, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at a 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine fins and water spray.
