About this design
He stands with His back to us, the crown of thorns resting in His hair, a young lamb tucked safe against His shoulder. The little face is calm, eyes closed, trusting. Behind them a winding path runs off into hills under a sky full of soft clouds. It is a quiet, tender scene, and once it is cut into wood the shadows do all the storytelling for you.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean carving. The depth is layered well, so the folds of the robe, the texture of the lamb's wool, and the distant landscape all read clearly without fighting each other. The file is tested and ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router. You can also send it to a 3D printer for cast relief panels or use it for laser relief work. For the cleanest result, rough the panel with a 6mm end mill at a 40 percent stepover, then come back and finish with a 3mm ball nose at roughly 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine grain in the wool and the clouds. Hardwoods like cherry, walnut, and maple show this one off beautifully. Makers use it for church and chapel decor, prayer room pieces, wall plaques, and gifts for Easter, baptism, and memorials.
