About this design
A young monkey stretches the full length of a rugged branch, one arm reaching forward while its bright face turns toward you. There is a stillness in the pose that pulls people closer, that little moment of curiosity caught in wood. Carve this one and it stops folks in their tracks the second they walk past it.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean machining. The composition runs horizontally, with the gnarled branch anchoring the top and the monkey's stretched body filling the lower half, so the carve reads well even from across a room. You get textured bark, scattered leaves, and soft fur definition that holds crisp shadow against the recessed background. The file is ready for Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it runs nicely on a CNC router or a capable 3D printer. For best results, rough it out with a 6mm end mill at a 40 percent stepover, then drop to a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover for the fine fur and bark detail. Run it in walnut, maple, or basswood and the grain works right along with the sculpt. Finished, it makes wildlife wall art, a cabin or den feature piece, a nature lover's gift, or a strong showcase carving for your workshop wall.
