About this design
An alligator coils right around the rim, scales armored from snout to tail, claws gripping the edge while four scooped compartments wait in the center. It is the kind of piece that stops conversation at a cabin table. Part wildlife sculpture, part working serving tray, and every scale catches the light once you oil the finished wood.
This is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean machining. The raised reptile body reads in sharp relief against the smooth tray pockets, so the shadows fall right and the texture stays crisp. Open it in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, or ArtCAM, set your toolpaths, and send it to your CNC router. For best results, rough the stock with a 6mm end mill at 40 percent stepover, then come back with a 3mm ball nose at 10 percent stepover to pull out the scale detail and the rounded bowls. Run it in oak or walnut and you get a serving tray with real heft and character. Great for charcuterie boards, snack trays, lodge centerpieces, reptile-themed gifts, and rustic kitchen decor.
