About this design
Picture the moment frozen in this panel. The Shepherd stands quiet and steady, a small lamb resting against his chest while the rest of the flock crowds in close around him. There is real tenderness in his face and in the way his hands hold that lamb, and once it is carved in walnut or cherry the whole scene seems to breathe. It is the kind of piece that stops people in a hallway.
Underneath the feeling is a high-detail bas-relief STL built for clean carving. The wool on the sheep, the folds of the robe, the strands of hair and beard, all of it reads with strong depth and honest shadow, so the toolpaths come off the machine looking hand-sculpted rather than printed. It runs nicely in Aspire, VCarve Pro, Carveco, and ArtCAM, and it is ready for your CNC router, your laser engraver, or a 3D printer. For the cleanest result, hog out the waste first with a 6mm end mill at forty percent stepover, then come back and finish with a 3mm ball nose at a 10 percent stepover to pull out the fine wool and facial detail. Use it for church and chapel decor, a wall plaque for a prayer room, or rustic farmhouse faith art.
