carved Grinning Cowboy Donkey 3D Relief STL for CNC and 3D Printing
Dan Witt carved our Grinning Cowboy Donkey, one of the five designs in his free starter pack. Every detail of the design came through: the wide grin and the shaggy forelock, the saddle on the fence post, the cactus and mesa behind, and the cowboy hat by his hooves. “Everyone loves it,” Dan wrote.
carved Wolf and Raven Bas-Relief STL for CNC Carving and 3D Printing
Jeff Miller of Burl & Curl Woodworking carved our Wolf and Raven relief, and this is it after the first of three coats of oil. Before any oil went on, he darkened the raven by hand with a tinted denatured alcohol on the bare wood, so the bird stands apart from the wolf while the grain still shows through both. “For the first piece it has to be perfect,” he wrote.

carved Roaring Bear and Eagle Crossed Feathers Bas-Relief STL
Jeff Miller of Burl & Curl Woodworking carved our Roaring Bear and Eagle Crossed Feathers twice, each 7 by 10 inches in African mahogany, and finished them two ways: Nutmeg gel stain on one, Georgian Cherry gel on the other. No roughing pass, just a 1/16 inch tapered ball nose at 18,000 RPM and 250 inches a minute, 3.75 hours each. “This carved like a dream, just like the others,” he told us. His tip for anyone carving fine detail: set X, Y and Z to the same feed rate, or Z becomes the axis that slows everything down.
carved Christmas Bells Ornament CNC Relief STL
Jeff Miller of Burl & Curl Woodworking downloaded our Christmas Bells Ornament at 6:41 in the evening and had it finished by 8:00. He carved it 4.3 inches tall in mahogany with no roughing pass, just a 1/16 inch tapered ball nose at 8% stepover and 250 inches a minute: 38 minutes on the machine. A coat of Odie's Oil brings out the warm grain through the bow and both bells. It was headed for his store the next morning, and he expects to be making a lot of them.

carved Military Memorial Valet Tray Design
Jeff, of Burl & Curl Woodworking in Ohio, bought our Military Memorial tray and had it on his machine the same night. He carved it in 1 1/2 inch red oak, and the open oak grain runs right through the folded flag, the dog tags and the laurel wreath, with eight deep, clean dishes around the rim. “Awesome file,” he told us. Press play to see the bit at work.
carved Majestic Soaring Bald Eagle CNC Relief STL
Dan Tisher carved our Majestic Soaring Bald Eagle and made it his own: he mirrored the design to fit what he wanted, so his eagle flies the other way. He finished the bird in a deep brown that picks out every feather, left the ground lighter so the grain shows, and darkened the hewn border to frame it. “Carved very nice,” he told us. We agree.
carved Snarling Werewolf Beast Monster Head CNC Relief STL
Spike Allen brought one of our DigitalChiselCo CNC relief files to life on his CNC router, turning the digital design into this striking wooden carving. The depth, expression, and fine details came through beautifully in the finished piece. Spike was impressed with how well the model machined and with the level of detail captured in the final carving — exactly what we love to see from the makers who use our designs. Great file. Great craftsmanship. Outstanding result. — Spike Allen | DigitalChiselCo Customer Have you carved one of our designs? Christian brought one of his DigitalChiselCo designs to life with a beautiful finished relief, turning a digital STL file into a real handcrafted piece. His 5-star review — “Beautiful Relief, was without any problems!!” — says it all. It’s always rewarding to see a design leave the digital workspace, meet the CNC machine, and become something a maker can proudly display and enjoy.
carved Cowgirl and Her Horse Bas-Relief, Western Ranch STL Carving
Ján brought this cowgirl and horse relief to life on his CNC router, and the depth he pulled from the wood is really something. The flowing hair, the brim of that Western hat, and the horse's quiet expression all read so clearly, with the pine and mountains layered softly behind them. The warm honey finish suits it perfectly and lets every carved detail catch the light. Beautiful work, Ján.

carved Snarling Wolf and Howling Pup Under the Full Moon Relief
Jeff Miller of Burl & Curl Woodworking carved our Snarling Wolf and Howling Pup 6 by 10 1/2 inches in cherry, starting from 1.050 inch stock. “Another awesome file. Pure perfection,” he wrote. No roughing pass: a 1/16 inch tapered ball nose at 18,000 RPM, 250 inches a minute and 10% stepover, 3 hours 3 minutes. Most of it is thinned dewaxed shellac with TransTint, and the pines are clear shellac tinted with green Mixol. His tip: blow the pooled finish out of the tight spots with an air hose instead of chasing it with a rag.
carved Hummingbird Serving Tray STL File for CNC Router
Daniel carved our Hummingbird Serving Tray, our best seller this autumn, in 1 inch walnut and gave it five stars on Etsy: “Cut this file today on my CNC. Turned out great.” About 4 hours on the machine, with a 1/16 inch tapered ball nose for the finish pass. The walnut grain runs through the spread wings, the swirling leaves and every one of the dishes around the rim.
carved Face of Christ and Crucifixion Bas-Relief STL with Crown of Thorns
Marllon carved our Face of Christ and Crucifixion relief and gave it five stars on Etsy: “very good.” A pale grey wash pools darker in the deep cuts, which brings out the crown of thorns, the strands of hair and beard on the large face, and the small figure on the cross below it, down to the ribs and the folds of the cloth.
carved Bald Eagle Head Bas-Relief STL with Wood Grain Detail
Keith carved our Bald Eagle Head relief, one of our best-selling designs, and gave it five stars on Etsy: “The file was excellent quality.” A dark finish settles into the cuts while the high points catch the light, so every layer of feathers down the neck reads on its own, and the eye and the open beak look straight off the board.
carved Native American Chief and Eagle Bas-Relief STL Carving
Ján carved our Native American Chief and Eagle relief and gave it five stars on Etsy: “Amazing model, flawless carving.” Every part of this busy scene held: the feathers of the headdress and the long braids, the eagle at the chief’s shoulder, riders on horseback with a bison below, a mountain goat on the cliff, bears, a turtle, the pipe and the coiled snake, all inside the braided border.
carved Arowana Fish Bas-Relief STL, Underwater Scene Wall Carving
A woodworking shop bought our Arowana Fish relief on Etsy and carved it as a square framed panel, photographed right there in the workshop with the machines behind it. Five stars and a short verdict: “The item was great... it matched the description we need.” Every scale on the arowana came through, along with the water plants around it and the stones below, and a natural knot in the wood sits up in the top corner like part of the scene.
carved Alligator Serving Tray with Four Compartments STL Relief
Shawn carved our Alligator Serving Tray on a CNC and left it five stars on Etsy: “Exceptional detail. Carved with the CNC with no issues at all.” The scales run unbroken around the whole rim, from the curled tail to the open jaw and its teeth, and the four compartments in the middle came out smooth and clean.
