Skulls, reapers, ravens, engine-and-piston skulls for the garage, and ornament borrowed from cathedrals and old tattoo flash. This is the collection people carve for bikers, bar walls, man caves and anyone who finds a deer a bit polite. The designs are deliberately deep-cut with strong shadow lines, because a skull that reads as a shallow print is a wasted board.

They carve beautifully in walnut and dark-glazed oak, and because the forms are bold they are also the most forgiving files in the catalogue for a first machine or a smaller cutter. Most print exceptionally well in resin, where the fine cracks and teeth come out sharp. Questions about gothic & skull art files

Do skull reliefs need a very small cutter?
No. Most were designed to finish with a 1/16 inch tapered ball nose; the teeth and cracks are drawn wide enough for it. A 1/32 inch tip is only worth the time on pieces under 200 mm.
Can I print these in resin?
Yes, and they are among the best files for it. The 3D printing guide covers orientation, layer height and supports for a relief.
What do I get when I buy a file?
A high-resolution STL of the relief, supplied at full depth so it scales cleanly, with an instant download link by email and in your account. Every file includes a commercial licence: carve and sell as many finished pieces as you like. Reselling or sharing the file itself is the only thing the licence does not allow.
Which software and machines do these work with?
Any CAM package that imports STL: Vectric VCarve and Aspire, Carveco, Fusion 360, Easel Pro, Carbide Create Pro and others.
